About the role:
As Care Manager at Wings School Cumbria, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our care workers, you will provide a stimulating environment, conducive to the educational, personal, and social development of the children as outlined on their education, health and care plans. You will also be ensuring effective leadership of the residential community when on duty, such that it is organised, managed and staffed in a manner that delivers the best possible child care. You will be taking a full and active role in the induction, supervision, training, and appraisal of the care staff which you hold responsibility for will participate in the recruitment and selection of members of the care team.
About you:
For this role, we are looking for someone who has at least 3 years’ experience of working at a senior level with EBD children or within the SEN sector and the ability to lead and manage a team. You will be passionate about supporting young people and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. You will be familiar with Ofsted and Children’s Home regulations and be able to evidence your knowledge and experience of behaviour management.

About us:
Wings School Cumbria, part of Kedleston Group Limited, is an independent specialist day school and children’s home in Milnthorpe for children and young people aged between the ages of 9 and 17. We support and care for children and young people who have identified social, emotional and mental health needs. They may also have learning difficulties such as autistic spectrum disorders including Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, moderate learning difficulties and other specific learning difficulties.
