CONSTRUCTION

Course Director Construction Crafts

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Up to £51,709 per annum £54,294 per annum from August 2024

Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) is a welcoming and professional Further Education (FE) college in North Hampshire. We are currently looking to recruit a new Course Director to lead an enthusiastic group of colleagues in our Construction Crafts team.

The successful candidate will be primarily leading a team that delivers across a range of courses within Construction Crafts. The area’s full-time provision mainly focuses on the NOCN Level 2 Multiskills qualification but also delivers a range of Level 2 City & Guilds Technical Certificates and Level 2 Apprenticeship Standards. The area intends to deliver the Design, Surveying and Planning T-Level as of September 2024 and is always looking at ways to grow the provision to support the Construction sector, both locally and nationally.

Another ambition for the area is to offer Level 3 Apprenticeship Standards, with continued support from a large group of supportive employers. The Construction Dept currently delivers Level 3 Standards in the Building Services area, including Electrical and Gas.

We also recently began to offer a range of short course qualifications within our newly completed £150k Green Energy Centre (GEC). Photo-Voltaic, Solar Thermal and Air Source Heat Pumps are also part of our fulltime delivery, hopefully inspiring the next generation of Construction operatives to consider their role in conserving the planet’s resources in the years to come.

You will need to be a highly motivated team leader. You also need to possess the skills, drive and enthusiasm to deliver and maintain the highest standards on our qualifications. The successful candidate will need to have a high level of knowledge and good experience of the Construction and FE sectors. They will need to have achieved an Advanced Craft (Level 3) qualification in a construction related discipline. A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in the FE environment is required and a recognised teaching qualification up to Level 4 is also required. The role will involve the successful individual to teach on our study programmes up to 18hrs per week. An Assessors Award and Verifiers qualification are both desirable, but not essential.

We have some amazing benefits on offer:

  • Membership of Teachers Pension
  • Retail Benefits scheme
  • Free onsite parking
  • Annual Well-being Day
  • Free onsite Gym
  • Annual Flu Jab
  • BCoT Nursery, Restaurant and Hair & Beauty discounts
  • Starbucks onsite!

Applications will be considered upon receipt so please do not delay in submitting your application today!

The college is rated Good by Ofsted, with outstanding features, has continued to improve since its last inspection and has maintained outstanding financial health for many years.
