We are looking for an outstanding class teacher to join our team to cover classes across our Primary Academy one day a week . This will work on a timetabled basis, but flexibility within the school is essential. The working day will be agreed with the successful candidate.  This Role is fixed term until August 2023.

We are looking for someone who:

• Can teach across our Primary Academy, from Nursery to year 6.

• Can create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to children’s learning, both indoor and outdoor.

• Can contribute to extra-curricular activities.

• Can identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations for all.

• Maintain good order and discipline among the pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.

• Organise and manage groups or individual pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities.

• Plan opportunities to develop the social, emotional and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.

• Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping and reporting of children’s progress.

• Prepare appropriate records for the transfer of pupils.

• Ensure effective use of support staff within the classroom, including parent/carer helpers.

• Participate in staff meetings as required.

• Be part of a whole school team, actively involved in decision-making on the preparation and development of policies and programmes of study, teaching materials, resources, methods of teaching and pastoral arrangements.

• Ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice.

• Communicate and consult with parents/carers over all aspects of their children’s education – academic, social and emotional.
