Educational Support Officer

You will be responsible for providing educational, emotional, social and personal support to students with PMLD, ASD and challenging behaviour ensuring that their educational needs are fully met in a professional and caring manner. You will participate in and support the provision of educational programmes and assist with the manual handling of students with personal care requirements in accordance with their individual health care plans.

With excellent communication skills you will liaise effectively with students, their families and external organisations. You will support the lecturer on residential activities and community based projects, in public places, during lunch breaks and on journeys as necessary. You will also provide admin support as and when required to support teaching staff in preparation of lesson material and the compilation of portfolios.

You will be educated to GCSE level with passes in Maths and English (grades A-C) or equivalent. Experience of working with students with learning and physical difficulties would be a distinct advantage.

You would work 27.5 hours a week, 36 weeks per year. The pro-rata salary is £11,743.37.
