Engineering Assessor

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Variable locations  - Remote Working

Salary up to £43,200.00

Basingstoke College of Technology is a leading and well-respected further education college situated in North Hampshire, easily accessible and with excellent transport links to surrounding areas.

We provide a wide range of technical training courses, have an extensive apprenticeship programme and an increasing portfolio of Higher Education courses.

In this role, you will be supporting apprentices to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet the requirements set out in the individual standards. You will assess work, track off-the-job training, support apprentices to develop English and maths, effectively track the apprentice journey from start through to EPA, and ensure all parts of the apprenticeship are achieved, evidenced, in line with BCoT and Awarding Body criteria.

You will be visiting apprentices in the workplace, liaising with employers, mentors and college teaching teams to ensure timely and successful completion for all students.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Have engineering experience preferably in the utilities sector or related industry
  • Have previous experience of working with young people and apprentices
  • Hold a minimum of Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Hold an assessor’s award V1, TAQA or equivalent (essential)
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
