Appointment Date: As soon as possible

35 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm

Grade G (24,948-£26,845) FTE

Actual Salary: £19,733

Kingsbury Green Academy, judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in every category when inspected in April 2022, is part of the successful Ascend Learning Trust. We are an ambitious, forward thinking 11-18 years Academy situated in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Calne in Wiltshire.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person with relevant experience and a high level of personal drive and energy, to support a dedicated and established team in a small group inclusion setting. Although we do not require you to have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), you will have the opportunity to deliver small group lessons and one to one academic support in a variety of subjects. Lesson materials will be provided, but a willingness to develop your own ‘spin’ on things would be a major asset. As you will be working with some of our more vulnerable and challenging students, you will need to be self-motivated, resilient, exceptionally well organised and a good team worker.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment with excellent attendance and punctuality, enthusiasm and a good classroom presence. Ideally, candidates should have experience of working with young people and be willing to actively seek to develop their own learning to enhance the service delivered. Support and training will be offered.

Closing date for receipt of applications: Monday 20th February 2023

Interview Date: Week commencing 27th February 2023

We look forward to receiving your application. If you have not heard from us after the closing date, you may assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer feedback on individual applications that are not shortlisted for interview.

The online search is part of our safeguarding checks and will seek publicly available information on candidates’ suitability to work with children. Shortlisted candidates will be provided with further guidance and will be asked to clarify their online presence.

References will be obtained before interview at shortlisting stage and may be used in the interview process. If previous employment has included working with children, then at least one referee must be from this employment, regardless of whether this is the current or most recent employment, any gaps in employment must be detailed and an explanation provided in the relevant section.
