Where you’ll work: The role is based at Hadlow. However, the nature of the work may require travel to other College sites from time to time as required.

Your hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 weeks per annum.

Your pay: £28,000 full time equivalent to £35,104, rising to a ceiling of £37,251 with a full teaching qualification.

Working within North Kent College’s Construction curriculum area, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, experienced and passionate individual to join the team as a Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery.

You’ll be required to prepare, teach and assess at a variety of qualification levels, including teaching apprentices working towards EPA, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies.

You’ll have specialist knowledge of the curriculum area, which may be enhanced by any relevant industry / professional experience, as well as a formal qualification that underpins this knowledge.

We need you to be a team player and an excellent communicator, able to maintain a proactive approach and an eye for detail whilst working to challenging deadlines.

Teaching experience, particularly within Further Education, would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Likewise, although a full teaching qualification (at Level 5 or above) isn’t required at this stage, you would need to secure this within 3 years of appointment.

In return, we’ll give you 42 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time contracts), and you’ll be enrolled onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance. You’ll also benefit from free parking and have access to a range of onsite facilities including a nursery (Dartford and Gravesend campuses), restaurants and coffee shops.
