Lecturer in Construction
Full-time (FTE 1.0 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
£26,819.10 to £36,792.88 per annum
We are looking for a self-motivated, organised individual with excellent communication skills to support, via assessment, the training on a range of programmes from Level 2. The successful candidate will ensure that all assessments and associated tracking and monitoring activities are undertaken and meet College and Awarding Body criteria.
The idea candidate will have previous experience of working within the construction industry and the Further Education sector. Ideally the successful candidate will have a specific vocational qualification at Level 2.
The candidate will initially be involved with the delivery team for the Level 2 Multi-skills qualification, so a broad range of construction knowledge and practical experience with Health & Safety, Carpentry and basic refurbishment techniques (tiling, painting and decorating etc.) would be advantageous.
The successful candidate would ideally hold an assessors and teaching qualification (or willing to work towards them) and an internal verifier’s award would also be advantageous.
The college is supporting the Education & Training Foundation Taking Teacher Further programme.
This is a national initiative to attract experienced industry professionals with expert technical knowledge and skills to work in Further Education. The programme is funded by the Department for Education. Further details available on request.
