We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and friendly nursery practitioner to join our nursery team at Westfield Primary School. The role will be working as a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant, 20 hours per week Monday to Friday. 8.45 am – 12.45pm.
The post is initially fixed term until 31st August 2024
The successful candidate will:
Support a pupil's learning, either in a group or through 1:1 work. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil
Preferably have some experience of working with SEND children
Support pupil's self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
The successful candidate will also be fulfilling all aspects of a key worker role, and our children would like them to:
Use gentle hands, gentle feet and gentle voices
Sing songs and tell funny stories
Help me put on my shoes
Come and play
As part of the EYFS team, you will need experience of the following:
Hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification and have experience of working in a nursery setting.
Work as part of a team.
Have experience of working with two year olds and upwards and be able to lead fun and child-centred learning for this age group.
Join in with child-initiated play and plan activities and experiences to help the children develop.
Follow school policies.
Form positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, staff and parents.
Enjoy the unpredictable nature of working with early years children.
