Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Designated Safeguarding Officer to join our Safeguarding Team.

The role will be mainly based in the Cambridge campus hub but will also require working at the Huntingdon campus, alongside the wider Student Support Services teams to provide a student centric service to students.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of incoming and ongoing safeguarding concerns linked to students including making appropriate external referrals and attending meetings, accurate and timely recording of interactions/updates on the college system (My Concern) and taking the appropriate action to safeguard students in line with the Colleges statutory duty is a key priority. Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) is essential.

You will report to the Student Support and Safeguarding Manager and will work alongside them to also deliver training to the wider college staff teams to ensure that the college keeps safeguarding at the heart of everything they do.

The right candidate will have recent experience of working in a similar role in social work, youth and community work, advice and guidance or education. Experience of managing a caseload is desirable. The ability to be self-motivated and organised is essential as the right candidate will need to be able to prioritise their own workload responding to the most urgent referrals to ensure that the College is compliant in child protection procedures.

The successful candidate will be supported through access to supervision and be provided ongoing training and development to assist them in their role.
