Fairfield High School, a school rated good with outstanding features by Ofsted, is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Librarian to work 37 hours per week, has excellent knowledge of children’s literature and all aspects of managing a school library.
This post is for maternity cover. Actual salary for 37 hours per week, term time will be £23,178, paid on NJC points 18 - 23.
Our library is a well-resourced hub of activity where students are encouraged to develop a love and appreciation for reading. The role involves working with teachers to support learning across the school, supporting with library lessons by facilitating the use of Accelerated Reader, developing and promoting the library, ensuring that appropriate resources are available to support the development of whole-school literacy including the reading program, and maintaining a computerised library system. You will also line manage the Assistant Librarian.
If you have previous experience of working in a library in an educational environment; have excellent communication skills and organisational skills, we would love to hear from you.
