Senior Student Support Assistant – SEN
Full Time 37 hours per week
Based across the St Albans and Welwyn Garden City Campus
Monday 8:30am – 4pm / Tues 8.30am - 3.45pm / Wed 8.30am - 4.30pm / Thurs 8.30am - 3.45pm / Fri 8.30am - 3.30pm. Finishing times vary to accommodate the 37 hours

£24,202 - £26,449 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

An open position has become available for a for a Senior Student Support Assistant within pathway 4 Employability Skills, the role would be working across the L.I.F.E provision.

Amongst other things the role will require you to support the Senior SSA Coordinator in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality programme of learning to individuals or groups of students with learning difficulties and disabilities and to assist tutors in delivering the curriculum. You will also be required to ensure new staff are supported effectively in acclimatising to the expectations and statutory requirements of the role as part of the mentor process.

The role will be split between the classroom and other duties, Senior SSA’s are mainly office based, however there will be a requirement for you to assist in the classroom if required.

You will need a minimum 3 year’s general work experience of working with students in schools, adult education, prisons or voluntary/charitable organisations and experience of supporting learners with specific additional needs.
