Required as soon as possible, a highly skilled and passionate teacher to develop and maintain the day-to-day running of the Inclusion Resource Base (IRB)

Cotham School is a wonderful and comprehensive school with a student body that fully reflects the city’s diversity. Cotham School provides an excellent well-rounded education for all students that contributes successfully to the achievement and success of its students over many years. Cotham School is founded on its core values of Achievement, Diversity and Respect.

We pride ourselves on our inclusive values and strive for all students, regardless of their background or starting point, to achieve their full potential. We are in the process of further developing our provision to support the growing diversity of needs that we are seeing in our student body. Therefore, we are excited to be planning an Inclusion Resource Base where highly personalised and bespoke support can be offered to our most vulnerable Key Stage 3 students so that they can more easily achieve their potential.

The Inclusion Resource Base will provide an important stepping stone back into the mainstream at Cotham. It will offer an alternative to our mainstream provision for students in need of it for a fixed period of time. The curriculum will be broad and balanced allowing for wider experiences to form part of the well-rounded educational offer with focused support for literacy, reading, numeracy and behaviour.

The postholder will work in collaboration with the SENDCo, Senior Inclusion Manager and Senior Leadership Team in addressing SEMH and/or behaviour needs. They will:

● Support the teaching of English and Maths at KS2 - KS3 level

● Keep track of the progress of students in the IRB, communicating regularly to all stakeholders (parents/carers, teachers, pastoral staff and SLT)

● Line manage the work of the Inclusion HLTA supporting the IRB

● access to employee assistance programme and counselling sessions

● ongoing learning and development opportunities and access to the school CPD library

● at least 5 inset (training) days per annum with the provision of free onsite drinks and meals
