Computer Science 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced computer science teacher to join our sixth form college as we develop a new centre of excellence in computing and Information Technology. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of computer science and its applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous computer science curriculum to a diverse group of students
  • Use innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students, including mentoring and tutoring as needed
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement the college's new computing and IT program
  • Stay current with the latest developments in computer science and incorporate this knowledge into the curriculum
  • Supervise and mentor student projects, research and participation in computer science competitions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in computer science at the secondary or post-secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of computer programming languages such as Python, C#, and Java
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, software design, and computer architecture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
