The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with young people to support learning and development, be flexible, committed and possess good administrative and IT skills. A calm, confident and professional approach is also essential. Previous relevant experience is desirable.
We have an active commitment to staff development and this is an excellent opportunity for those considering a career in teaching to gain experience inside and outside of the classroom in a secondary school setting.
Humphry Davy School is committed to ensuring the highest quality of education for all our students. Ofsted (Short Inspection November 2016) judged the school as ‘good’ and stated, “Across the school we found that pupils were very keen to learn. Pupils we spoke with enjoy coming to school and feel that they are making good progress. Pupils are well-mannered and keen to tell visitors how good the school is and how it keeps them safe. A more recent visit in July 2022 by the LA education effectiveness team highlighted how staff create a positive atmosphere and inclusive ethos, leading to all students having a sense of belonging to the Humphry Davy Community.
