Technician in Construction (Term Time only)

The post of Technician for Construction is now vacant and is required to be filled to enable smooth running of the area for full time and apprentice learners.

This person would prepare materials for classes following lecturer’s requirements, along with preparing materials, ordering of materials, tools and equipment. Preparing the workshop for the delivery of classes along with many other tasks that are appropriate to a construction technician.

Duties and Responsibilities.

• To  help maintain the Department’s workshops.
• To supervise and maintain all equipment in the workshop to relevant standards, including potentially hazardous equipment.
• Demonstrate the safe usage of equipment to the students.
• To be responsible for the maintenance of a clean and safe workshop environment and to be the designated custodian for workshops space
• To check, clean and maintain tools / power tools
• Clear understanding of good workshop housekeeping is a benefit along with an appropriate knowledge of health, safety and welfare matters.
• Teaching experience is not essential for this post, however, the understanding that the person would be working with young people as well as adults is a must.
