Are you a highly motivated individual with strong industry knowledge and experience within the Engineering Sector?

We are seeking an experienced assessor to assist with the training of our apprentices across a range of Engineering Apprenticeships Standards.

What will you be doing?

Supporting apprentices to gain the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours to meet the requirements set out in the individual Standards. To assess work, track off the job training, support apprentices to develop English and maths, to effectively track the apprentice journey, from start through to EPA, and be responsible to ensure all parts of the apprenticeship are achieved, and evidenced, in line with BCoT and Awarding Body criteria.

You will be visiting apprentices in the workplace, liaising with employers, mentors and with college teaching teams to ensure timely and successful completion for all students.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Have engineering experience preferably in the utilities sector or related industry
  • Have previous experience of working with young people and apprentices
  • Hold a minimum of Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Hold an assessor’s award V1, TAQA or equivalent (essential)
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
