Basingstoke College of Technology, located in North Hampshire, is a leading and well-respected further education provider. The college prides itself on its excellent links with business and the success of its learners in securing positive destinations. Basingstoke is an expanding town with a thriving economy and excellent transport links.

The college was rated ‘good with outstanding features’ in Feb 2023 by Ofsted and is committed to becoming an ‘outstanding’ provider. Our financial health has consistently been rated ‘outstanding’ over the last 10 years by the Skills Funding Agency.

The main purpose of the role is to analyse and report data to help the college improve its performance, decision making, data accuracy and income. You will be a champion of data best practice, providing both support and challenge to colleagues at all levels.

Based at our Basingstoke campus, this exciting role will involve proactively identifying and addressing areas of weakness and opportunities for improvement as well as implementing systems and processes to monitor and ensure best practice is being followed. As part of Information Services, you will continually assess suitability of current controls and processes and make improvement recommendations, particularly in light of regulatory changes. You will deputise for the Head of Data & Funding, ensuring that systems operate effectively, funding returns are accurate, and the college meets its statutory and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be able to write T-SQL, have expert Excel skills, strong data analysis skills and have the ability to work with large volumes of data to identify trends, monitor performance and issues. Previous experience in a data performance role is essential, with knowledge of Further Education funding and performance methodology highly desirable.
